The master’s student Zainab Ali Abdul Hussein presented her thesis titled “Elite Ant System with Simulated Annealing to Solve the Flexible Task Scheduling Problem” before the Council of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology on Monday morning, 8/4/2024 AD, at Dr. Muhammad Abbas Al-Jubouri Hall.
The discussion committee, chaired by Professor Dr. Ghada Kazem Ne’ma, included the following members:
- Assistant Professor Qusay Imran Musa
- Assistant Professor Osama Majeed Hilal
- Assistant Professor Lama Salal Hassan in supervision
The thesis presented two techniques for solving the problem of flexible task scheduling. The first technique involved using the elite ant system to schedule tasks in the shortest time. The second technique used the annealing simulation algorithm to find the best scheduling solutions by extracting the solution from the elite ant. When both methods were tested together, the results for scheduling tasks using both methods together were better than using the elite ant alone. The thesis received a very good rating and was approved. Congratulations to the student and her supervisor
